San Pedro Quiatoni is from a small community in the central valleys of Oaxaca. It is located between mountains where it emerges as a rock called "QUIA-DUNI" whose name means QUIA-stone and DUNI -thread or long, “Long Stone” or “ Stone Cut to Lead.”
A community characterized by the beauty of its mountains, the clarity of its sky, the varied flora and fauna that adorn it, the pine trees so developed by nature that their crowns are lost in the clouds, the harmonious song of its birds, the diversity of wild animals and the aroma of its flowers.
Previously, its inhabitants wore a Zapotec huipil with colors and shapes that represented an entire legacy of history, sadly it is being forgotten. We would like this small part of its history not to be lost in time. Therefore, this is our small contribution to continue preserving the huipil of San Pedro Quiatoni.
